- green Japanese bell pepper 8-10
- toasted sesame oil 1 tablespoon
- For the sauce:
- tamari soy sauce 2 tablespoons
- mirin 2 tablespoons
- sake 1 tablespoon
- cane sugar 1/2 tablespoon
- bonito broth powder 1 teaspoon
- roasted ground sesame seeds 3-4 tablespoons

Combine all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl.

Slice pepper in half, then remove the top of the stem part.

Use your finger tip to peal the white membranes.

Chop the pepper into 1/2″ wide pieces.

Oil in a large skillet over medium heat,

Add pepper and cook for 1 minute.

Add the sauce mix and cook until the sauce almost cooks off.

Turn off the heat and add the sesame seeds.

Stir well until the sesame seeds evenly coat the pepper.
