Japanese green bell pepper with ground sesame seeds.このレシピの生い立ちSummer is the season that I can get Japanese green bell pepper from my farmer friends, so we want to enjoy a bunch 🙂

  1. green Japanese bell pepper 8-10
  2. toasted sesame oil 1 tablespoon
  3. For the sauce:
  4. tamari soy sauce 2 tablespoons
  5. mirin 2 tablespoons
  6. sake 1 tablespoon
  7. cane sugar 1/2 tablespoon
  8. bonito broth powder 1 teaspoon
  9. roasted ground sesame seeds 3-4 tablespoons

作り方

    Combine all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl.

    Slice pepper in half, then remove the top of the stem part.

  3. 3

    Use your finger tip to peal the white membranes.

  4. 4

    Chop the pepper into 1/2″ wide pieces.

    Oil in a large skillet over medium heat,

    Add pepper and cook for 1 minute.

    Add the sauce mix and cook until the sauce almost cooks off.

    Turn off the heat and add the sesame seeds.

  9. 9

    Stir well until the sesame seeds evenly coat the pepper.

  10. 10

    Serve.

コツ・ポイントJapanese green bell pepper has slight bitter aftertaste, so add some sugar tohelp cut off this bitterness.
